Bowling for Bears is a 501(c)(3) New Jersey Nonprofit Corporation.  Our mission is to give children in need gifts.  Over the past six years, Bowling for Bears has provided over 8,000 children in need with teddy bears for the holidays. 

Bowling for Bears started after Hurricane Katrina, and in 2005 after the first Bowling for Bears event, Bowling for Bears was able to provide every child at the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans with a teddy bear during the holidays.  The Second Annual Bowling for Bears also benefited the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans and other children in need in the surrounding area.

For the Third Annual Bowling for Bears event in 2007, we decided to distribute the bears to children in need in the South Jersey and Philadelphia areas.  That year, we were able to provide every child at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children with a bear.  The Fourth Annual Bowling for Bears alone was able to provide over 1,600 bears to children in need.  These bears went to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Cooper University Hospital, The Camden Rescue Mission, two shelters, a residential foster home facility, and an organization that runs a toy drive for children in need.  The Fifth Annual Bowling for Bears was able to provide over 2,400 bears to children in need.  Click here for the Fifth Annual Bowling for Bears teddy bear recipients.  The Sixth Annual Bowling for Bears was able to provide over 2,400 bears to children in need.  Click here for the Sixth Annual Bowling for Bears teddy bear recipients.

Bowling for Bears will continue to provide children in need with teddy bears to brighten their holidays.  The Seventh Annual Bowling for Bears will continue to benefit children in need.
